Have you ever wondered what Liberty PTSA does with your donations?

This school year our members have generously donated over $11,000 and member employers have donated over $9,000 in matching funds!  Because of this tremendous generosity, the PTSA has been able to give this money back to the school and students in many ways.

Enrichment Grants: this year the PTSA took $12,000 from the Cash for Kids donations and matching funds and put that money in our Enrichment Grants line item. Throughout the school year, staff members submit requests for money to be used to enrich the school experience for students. We have granted about $7400 so far this year to the following:

-$440 to the Japanese classes to attend a festival

-$500 to DECA to purchase new jackets

-$1000 to bring The Seattle Shakespeare Society to Liberty to perform Macbeth for all 10th graders

-$2800 to assist with the Mixed Choir trip to New York City

-$1200 to purchase in-class textbooks with online access for AP Human Geography

-$1000 to support two senior research projects in Science

-$400 to Eagle Scout project for stairs in PAC

Students In Need: whether it’s money for College in the High School fees, AP exam fees, Night Academy fees, field trip fees, ASB card fees, yearbook fees, or sports fee, the PTSA grants money to Liberty High School to help students pay these expenses. No student should miss out on these key parts of High School because of money, so the school requests monies from the PTSA to help make sure every student has a High School experience rich in opportunities. This school year alone, our PTSA has been able to assist over 40 students with $6000 worth of assistance.

Hospitality/Family Events: whenever there are refreshments served at a school sponsored event, the PTSA pays for those refreshments. These events include College Planning Night, Incoming Freshman Night, Open House, Start Strong gatherings, and many others. We are happy to be able to pay for the supplies the Liberty Culinary Students use the make the delicious refreshments at these events.  So far we have donated about $1,200 for these events.

Senior Events: each graduating class of Liberty has a Senior Events Committee that starts work as Freshmen. Volunteers raise funds over all four years at Liberty to pay for Baccalaureate, Senior Breakfast, and Grad Night. The PTSA donates $500 to these events.
