Congratulations to our 2020 Liberty Golden Acorn Award Recipients!
Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a volunteer who has gone "above and beyond" in their volunteer work for Liberty and the community. Your nominations were scored using an official process and rubric to select award recipients based service to PTA, local schools, the school district, and the community or other volunteer organizations. Please see below for this years recipients:
Congratulations on your Golden Acorn: Stacy Morford
Stacy has contributed so much to programs that benefit Liberty students over the past 3 years. She has served on the PTSA board of directors as the Advocacy Chair, Outreach Chair and Campus Beautification Chair. She organized the Fall Dress Dash so students would have access to no-cost formal wear. She kept our counseling office supplied weekly with fresh food for students in need, and is in constant communication with them about other student needs. She has worked hard to improve communication between the school administration and PTSA regarding Campus Beautification and has weeded, planted flowers, and provided volunteer opportunities for our students, as she made our campus a beautiful place! Stacy has volunteered at her church for many years, and during the Stay at Home order she has been generously providing baked goods and helped with shopping for elderly neighbors. Thank you for all you do & congratulations Stacy!

Congratulations on your Golden Acorn: Dawn Peschek
Dawn has been involved in PTA since her first child entered kindergarten, and every year since. She has served on the Liberty Board of Directors for the past 4 years as Vice President and President, and has been involved in countless programs, events and committees for our PTSA, including chairing the Reflections program and hard work on this year’s Senior Events. In addition to her PTSA involvement at Liberty, she volunteers to help with band, choir, drama and other school programs. Dawn serves our district and has been a member of the Issaquah PTSA Council Board of Directors for the past 8 years. As President of Volunteers for Issaquah Schools, Dawn worked tirelessly to promote and successfully pass this year's Issaquah Schools levy. She also volunteers in her extended community in Hood Canal, where she shared her skills and experience to help them pass their local schools levy. She contributes locally by being involved in the YWCA and community events, such as the annual Maple Hills Santa Breakfast, which she has chaired for 15+ years. Her award nomination submission said she works a lot behind the scenes and is a “Rockstar” who “doesn’t like to toot her own horn”! Congratulations Dawn and thank you for your service!
